About this event

The 3rd annual "Provost's Teaching with Technology DELTA Symposium" will take place virtually on May 4th, 2021 from 9:00AM-3:00PM EDT and is hosted by the Johns Hopkins University Office of the Provost.

The keynote address "ENGAGE: Crafting J.E.D.I. Warrior Learning Community Strategies in the Age of Technology” will be delivered by Dr. Tonya Matthews, Chief Executive Officer of the International African American Museum (IAAM) and former Associate Provost for Inclusive Workforce Development and Director of the STEM Learning Innovation Center at Wayne State University (WSU). Dr. Matthews is also an alumni of Johns Hopkins University's biomedical engineering program.

The symposium will also highlight the projects funded by the Digital Education and Learning Technology Acceleration (DELTA) grants via breakout sessions. Additional breakout sessions related to this year’s theme of fostering student engagement in learning communities have been selected from faculty, student and staff contributors.

The symposium will close with a panel discussion where students share their personal thoughts and reflections on student engagement in both virtual and in-person classroom settings.
